Chic Eyeglasses/Cake

Bright Chic Eyeglasses

I loved making this cake for a client. I loved the fact that he let me design it. He only gave me the colors and the theme were eyeglasses.  I made a 12" cake and a dozen of mini cakes using the same theme.  I used acetate film as the lenses on the eyeglasses.

Baby Elephant in Gumpaste

Baby Blue Elephant

This cute elephant was modeled in gum paste for a baby shower for a client. Isn't it cute. I called it Baby Blue Elephant since it was for a boy, but it can also be made for a girl in pink, perhaps with a bow. Either way I'm sure it will still be adorable.

Hello Sweet Friends

It's been a while since I've posted to the blog. Not for a lack of projects, but for lack of time. I have posted pictures to our Facebook page. Here I am back and will try to play "catch up". Hope you enjoy the blog and feel free to share comments or thoughts. Thanks.

Happy Fourth of July!!
These are Ginger Flavored Cookies decorated for the 4th of July. I had a batch of these cookies in the freezer and since we are having a family get-together to celebrate the day I decided to thaw the dough and make cookies to have as part of the dessert table. Enjoy your day and let Freedom Ring, and God Bless the USA!!

Gadgets and cute things!

It didn't take long for me to do something cake related, between catching up with house chores and doing errands now that I'm home, I managed to make some gumpaste orchids just to keep up with my skills.  I've been wanting to buy a sign that reads "dream", and in one of those errands mentioned above I found a bargain at a store here in Florida called "Ross".  The sign was a bargain since it was big and my dear husband asked the manager for a discount since he saw a little scratch on the back.  Going back to the orchids I made, I placed the orchids in the sign and had to take a picture.  I think it came out so adorable.

Summer Vacation is Here!!!

Summer is here! and finally I'm going on vacation after a hectic year. Having a full-time job and baking after hours and on weekends has been quite a challenge, but a challenge that I've enjoyed. Though, I have to admit that I'm ready for restful, relaxing days and enjoying time with family.  Baking and decorating are my passion and, of course, in between those vacation days I would like to include some days for....you guessed it! baking and cake decorating. Actually I am looking forward to doing some cake projects and tutorials that I had on the back of my mind but never had the time to accomplish.  I've made my list and hope to be able to check-off some projects.  I will keep you posted so keep checking my log and visit my Facebook page "Glamour Cakes by Edith".  Happy Summer!!

Monsters Inc. Cake

Monsters Inc. Cake made for a one year old, Landon. It was fun making this cake along with the smash cake. For the first time I actually saw someone smash a cake, of course, it was not the big  cake which made it a little easier to see. I cannot imagine making a huge cake just to have it smashed!!
Here's Landon smashing his little cake, just love his face expression!
